FOR TEACHERS
Make home practice part of the conversation.
Use grade and course guides to help families choose practice, then discuss the skills behind completed work.
Match practice to the student’s course
FAST Reading practice covers grades 3–10 and FAST Math practice covers grades 3–8. Algebra 1 and Geometry practice follow course enrollment, including middle school. Explore math courses or reading by grade.
Use practice evidence to plan a conversation
Ask a family to review completed sessions, missed skills, and the parent report together. A small set offers a starting point for discussion; it does not establish mastery or predict an official FAST score. See the parent reporting features.
Keep coaching separate from the result
Missed practice answers remain missed. Students can read the explanation and move forward. Longer practice forms withhold feedback until submission so students can work independently.
Keep Florida’s assessments distinct
Science in grades 5 and 8 is the Statewide Science Assessment, separate from FAST. B.E.S.T. Writing and EOC assessments are separate programs too. View FDOE’s assessment programs.
