FAST Math serves grades 3–8. Algebra 1 and Geometry use separate B.E.S.T. end-of-course assessments. Choose school grade and math course separately in the app. A middle-school student can practice Algebra 1 or Geometry while keeping grade-level reading.
| Grade band | Practice examples |
|---|---|
| 3–5 | Multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, and place value. See a Grade 4 example. |
| 6–8 | Ratios, percentages, expressions, equations, and linear relationships. See a Grade 7 example. |
| By course enrollment | Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC practice, including middle school and grades 11–12. Read the high-school guide. |
What your child does in a math session
- Choose a short mission or a skill-focused set.
- Read the problem and select or enter an answer, depending on the item.
- Review the explanation in practice mode. Use the hint to identify the next step in the calculation.
- Return to a lesson or another set when the same skill needs more work.
The separate tools lab offers calculator and response-tool familiarization. Available tools and calculator rules depend on grade and activity.
When an answer is wrong
First ask your child to show the step before the answer. Was the difficulty reading the question, choosing an operation, or carrying out the calculation? Those need different kinds of help.
The parent dashboard records completed practice. A percentage from a few questions is not a mastery judgment. Look for a repeated pattern and use it to start a conversation with the teacher.
Before an official school assessment
Practice can make question navigation more familiar. It cannot reproduce the official computer-adaptive test or predict a score. Use your school’s instructions for schedules, approved supports, and required materials.
