Lauren and Jonathan Simmons started Florida Fast Prep after looking for a way to help their own kids practice Florida’s B.E.S.T. skills at home.
The question at our kitchen table
What should we work on tonight? We wanted more than another worksheet or a number on a screen. We wanted short sessions, explanations children could revisit, and a record parents could use to choose the next skill.
That is what we are building with Florida Fast Prep: original practice questions, a separate child login, and a parent dashboard that shows the work completed here.

What is inside the question bank?
Our questions are original, rather than copied from official test forms. Each question is organized by grade, subject, skill, and intended B.E.S.T. benchmark. Math items include an answer, hint, and explanation; reading practice uses passages and evidence-based questions.
Question variants may exercise the same skill in different contexts. A benchmark label describes intended alignment, not FDOE approval or independent curriculum certification. We do not claim that every item has been individually reviewed by a certified teacher.
AI assists with practice summaries and skill lessons. It is not an open chat for children or a substitute for a teacher. If you find an error, send the question wording and grade through Support; please leave out child names and access codes.
FAST, B.E.S.T., and our practice are different things
Within the grades we serve, official FAST Reading covers grades 3–10 and FAST Math covers grades 3–8. B.E.S.T. Writing and the Algebra 1 and Geometry EOC assessments are separate from FAST progress monitoring.
Our app offers independent reading and math practice, response-tool familiarization, and practice checks. It does not reproduce the state’s adaptive scoring, replace school testing, or predict an official score.
